If you're reading this blog you're at least thinking about taking action on invasive management on your property, and if you're thinking about invasive management you definitely want to look into the NRCS/EQIP program (Natural Resources Conservation Service/Environmental Quality Incentives Program) that offers reimbursement for monies spent. The Chittenden County NRCS regional office info can be found here (if you're in Franklin, Lamoille, Washington, or Addison Counties use the same link to search for your regional office). These folks are extremely helpful and will walk you through the process step by step. One thing you want to make sure of is to ask about the reimbursement rates for different kinds of services (chemical vs. mechanical vs. chemical/mechanical...). The EQIP program also reimburses for a number of landscape "improvements" such as tree and shrub planting, adding woody debris to streams, and creating wildlife habitat. Very highly recommended if you're thinking about invasive removal, land restoration, and landscape management.
Here's a guide from VTInvasives.org that outlines the process.
